Crisis and Emergency
Counseling Services provides crisis response to students and their dependents who are experiencing mental health emergencies. If you, or someone you know, is experiencing a crisis or is believed to be a danger to self and/or others, please call BYUH Campus Safety & Security at (808) 675-3911. For emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
During Business Hours
If you, or someone you know, would like to consult with a counselor please call Counseling Services at (808) 675-3518. If you would prefer to talk to a counselor in person, you are welcome to walk in for potential urgent assistance. Counseling Services is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm. The office may be closed for lunch, devotional, holidays, etc. If the office is closed, please call (808) 675-3911.
After Hours (On-Campus)
If you are on-campus and need to reach a crisis counselor after 5:00 pm, call BYUH Campus Safety & Security (808) 675-3911. The on-call crisis counselor will respond to after-hour calls.
After Hours (Off-Campus)
Counseling Services does not provide after-hours crisis response for individuals off-campus. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need to talk to someone, please call the Hawaii CARES line at (808) 832-3100 or dial 988. For emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Report a Concern
For concerns regarding harm to self or others, please submit a report to the BYUH Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). This reporting system is NOT a 911 or Emergency Service! Do not use this site to report events presenting an immediate threat to life or property. For emergencies, call 911.
